Scheduled from Thursday 5th May to Sunday 8th May at Palexpo in Geneva (the preview, in the presence of local authorities, VIPs and the media will take place on Wednesday 4 May), the fourth edition of GemGeneve will offer a unique, high quality selection of coloured stones, exceptional diamonds, pearls, antique, historic and contemporary jewellery. GemGeneve was founded in 2018 by Thomas Faerber and Ronny Totah, two Geneva based dealers in antique jewels and precious stones, and right from the beginning it has always been attended and appreciated by a wide community of professionals, designers, media representatives, gemmology and jewellery collectors and simple enthusiasts. «What makes GemGenève really unique – Ronny Totah explains – is that it was created by exhibitors, in a way like any exhibitor would like. Secondly, it is not as general as other big shows but it has on its side the high quality of its distinguished, selected exhibitors, so it can meet the needs and fulfill the dreams of those who are just looking for exceptional, high-end pieces».
Focused on quality, GemGenève aims to contribute to the growth of the jewellery industry at an international level and at the same to be a source of inspiration for both exhibitors and visitors: therefore creativity and education are at the center of attention in the rich program of the event.
Curated by renowned jewellery historian Vivienne Becker, “Designer Vivarium” presents the innovative creations by a group of independent jewellery designers from all over the world, according to the 2022 connecting theme: the classics contemporised. As regards to the younger generations, GemGenève has established a partnership with schools of art, jewellery and other educational institutions, while a whole area of the show, “Emerging Talents”, is dedicated to young, promising designers. Noteworty is also the participation of Estelle Lagarde, the French designer famous for her gouaches giving life to jewellery and watches by the most prestigious companies. The program is completed by a series of conferences and seminars that will offer its visitors an unprecedented vision of gemmology and jewellery, allowing them to meet renowned experts in their field and to gain access to insider knowledge.
There will also be Digital updates thanks to partnerships with influencers who, during the show, will be offering a wider audience a unique experience, via daily mini-broadcasts ‘live from the show’.
«There is definitely optimism in the jewellery industry – concludes Ronny Totah – We all want to breathe again, to be free again and to enjoy life again… and at GemGenève buyers and private visitors have always found and will always find exceptional pieces to admire and enjoy!»
