The new exhibition at 20 Place Vendôme, dedicated to transformable jewellery, presents more than thirty creations from the Van Cleef & Arpels Historic Heritage.
Displayed in a didactic setting featuring figures embroidered by artist Peter Crawley, the jewels are revealed in unexpected ways to highlight the variety of ways in which they can be worn.
The theme of the exhibition illustrates how the transformable pieces are the joint fruit of the creativity of the Maison and the virtuosity of its craftsmen. The necklaces are broken up into bracelets, the brooches are separated into several elements and the pendants become brooches.
The transformable creations, emblem of Van Cleef & Arpels, represent the evolution of the female silhouette and its expression in every era. From the 1920s to today they have been adapted to economic needs and to social, aesthetic and cultural evolutions.
