In celebration of springtime we have introduced the next objet in our limited-edition Fabergé in Bloom egg objet series, the Twin Flower Egg. Limited to just 10 numbered editions, this collectors’ piece celebrates flora in the season of new beginnings.
Crafted entirely by hand using time-honoured techniques, the creation of this unique egg objet was overseen by Fabergé Workmaster, Dr. Marcus Mohr. In close collaboration with his small team of craftspeople in Pforzheim, Germany, Mohr has been working with Fabergé since the Maison was re-launched in 2009.
Mohr explores new and innovative ways to bring historical craftsmanship into the 21st century, with a focus on the craft of guilloché enamelling – although the core processes of this art form have remained largely unchanged for 130 years.
The Fabergé 18k Yellow Gold Green Guilloché Enamel Egg Objet with Twin Flower Surprise is decorated with a vibrant green guilloché enamel ‘shell’, which has been hand carved with an intricate floral design, marked out by eye, and finished with a fine polish.
The egg opens to reveal a charming twin flower surprise sitting upon an 18k yellow gold guilloché base. Standing 65mm high, the egg is mounted on a stand crafted from carved bowenite and includes a responsibly sourced Gemfields Zambian cabochon emerald button. The surprise itself is an 18k yellow gold twin flower plant. Each petal is hand-painted with light pink guilloché enamel and each leaf with a light green guilloché enamel.
A special detail is the gold rim that encircles the guilloché plate – the gold has been worked by hand into an organic pattern, echoing the shape of the flower buds. The Fabergé 18k Yellow Gold Green Guilloché Enamel Egg Objet with Twin Flower Surprise is available to purchase at selected Fabergé boutiques and on the official website.
