TEFAF Maastricht

TEFAF Maastricht is widely regarded as the world’s premier fair for fine art, antiques, and design, showcasing the finest art works currently on the market. Alongside the traditional areas of Old Master paintings, antiques, and classical antiquities that cover approximately half of the fair, you can also find modern and contemporary art, photography, jewelry, 20th-century design, and
works on paper.

VAN CLEEF AND ARPELS

Heritage Necklace and clip/pendant

1971
Yellow gold, sapphires, emeralds, diamonds
The Arpels brothers were curious about the cultures of the world and were often inspired by their travels. The Maison has a longstanding connection to India. Claude Arpels was even referred to in the press as “Friend of the Maharajas.”
At the turn of the 20th century, Indian maharajas traveled to Paris to have their sumptuous jewels remounted. The carved emeralds and sapphires call to mind how Indian culture influenced many Van Cleef & Arpels designs.
Transformable pieces are a hallmark of Van Cleef & Arpels designs. The clip may be worn as a pendant and the necklace may be worn with or without the pendant.
